Okay, I’m well aware that comparing oneself to Socrates might be (should be) be considered the height of pretentiousness. However, that is not what I’m endeavoring to do here. Rather, I’m seeking to think and act in the spirit of Socratic inquiry and, yes, that means being argumentative. To that, I plead guilty.
I’m Ken Hittel, currently Digital Strategy Advisor on the Board of Advisors to FairWinds Partners, a Domain Name Strategy and Services provider. Prior to joining the FairWinds board, I worked in a variety of positions at New York Life Insurance Company for more than 20 years, the last 12 of which involved running the Corporate Internet Dept., responsible for the Company’s Digital Strategy, its Web sites, online lead generation programs, and its portfolio of mobile and Social Media presences — i.e, pretty much the whole kit and kaboodle of Digital, the kind of operation that is so sadly lacking not only (now) at New York Life, but throughout corporate America.
